Turf, Wetland & Soft Ground Access

Lawns, sports fields, golf courses, wetlands, and waterlogged ground can be easily damaged by vehicles and heavy equipment. Even a small service truck may leave deep ruts when the soil is wet. BKM ground protection mats form temporary access routes, pedestrian paths, and work platforms while placing less pressure on the surface below. They can be used in parks, gardens, sports grounds, marshes, bogs, floodplains, and other areas where the ground is soft or sensitive. Lightweight 10–15 mm mats, rated at approximately 50–60 tons, are suitable for landscaping equipment, utility vehicles, and light service trucks. For excavators, cranes, crawler equipment, and heavier vehicles, reinforced mats from 25 to 60 mm provide static load ratings from 120 to over 300 tons. Instead of allowing tyres or tracks to press directly into the soil, the mats distribute the load across a wider area. This helps limit rutting, soil compaction, turf damage, and vehicle sinking while still giving crews the access they need.
