Concrete pump outrigger pads are used to create a larger, more reliable bearing surface under pump truck outriggers during setup and pumping. The boom position changes the center of gravity through the swing range, and the outrigger floats are often much smaller than people expect. No, do not do that. It is a major risk point. Tip-overs are often caused either by not having enough cribbing or support area under the outriggers or by outriggers not being fully extended. The industry also uses the term "shortrigging" for such practice.
