Ground works protection mats are used to help equipment cross mud, grass, fill, gravel, or other unstable ground without leaving ruts or losing access after rain. In jobsite use, they are commonly chosen as temporary roadway mats, access mats, and track mats. These mats can be laid quickly, reused across projects, and matched to different ground conditions through size, thickness, surface pattern, and connector options.

What thickness should be considered for different site conditions?

3/8 inch mats are typically positioned as lighter and easier to carry. 1/2 inch mats are more commonly selected for general equipment access. Heavier applications and higher-duty roadway use should move into 3/4 inch and 1 inch ranges, depending on equipment weight, turning stress, and ground stability.

Are ground works mats suitable for mud and wet grass, or only for hard surfaces?

They are commonly specified for grass, dirt, gravel, cement, blacktop, and soft ground access. Very weak ground may require thicker mats to achieve more surface coverage or a better load-spread layout.

Do all mats use the same surface pattern?

No. We provide reversible designs, including deep-V, diamond, chevron-style traction, or smoother contact-side options. You can customize the pattern depending on machine grip, pedestrian safety, or reducing marking on the surface.

Will long-term placement on wet foundation soil affect the internal structure of the mats

The mat's body adopts non-hygroscopic technology. It will not absorb underground moisture to cause internal expansion, stable for long-time field placement.

Can mats be connected for a longer roadway?

Of course. Many systems use pre-drilled holes with link connectors or locking hardware.

Will these mats bridge trenches or voids?

You'd better not do it. They should be treated as surface protection and load-spread products. These mats can follow slopes and contours, not designed for bridging over ditches or trenches.

Will fine gravel on construction sites abrade and wear down the mat surface quickly

No. Our mats have high wear-resistant outer layer to resist continuous friction and scratches from scattered gravel. They possess extended service life in rough ground environments.

Do these mats have good adaptability in soil replacement and foundation leveling sites

They fit well with newly leveled loose soil ground, forming stable temporary passages to avoid disturbance to the leveled foundation terrain.
