Plan temporary lawn access from the first delivery to site handover

On a building project, a lawn can become the access route for several trades before it is handed back to the owner. BKM supplies grass mats for construction protection in reusable HDPE formats for assessed equipment movements. We help contractors plan the shared route, select the panel configuration and recover coverage in stages as work areas are released.

Key Features & Advantages

Establish a route before trades arrive. Connected panels identify where the specified equipment should travel across the lawn. A shared access plan helps keep deliveries and follow-on trades within the area selected for protection.

Choose coverage around construction phases. Keep the required access available while releasing panels from completed sections. A recoverable system allows the contractor to manage a changing footprint rather than covering the whole property for the full project.

Separate wheels and tracks from the turf. The HDPE panels provide a removable running layer and spread contact loads over supporting ground. Ground condition and the actual machinery still determine the suitable configuration.

Retain useful stock beyond handover. HDPE resists moisture and does not rot like plywood. Panels that pass cleaning and inspection can return to the contractor’s inventory for another property.

Quote the actual handling requirement. Our 22 kg compact and 41 kg 4 × 8 references offer different footprint and handling choices. Select around the work area, unloading space and the frequency of repositioning.

Identify shared construction stock. Agree color or ownership marking for panels used by multiple teams. A documented surface and hole layout helps the buyer order compatible additions during the project.

Applications

Building extensions across existing lawns. Provide an assessed access route from the unloading point to the work area. Plan the cover that remains necessary as different trades complete their tasks.

Residential developments with retained green areas. Use construction grass mats on agreed service routes through maintained landscape areas. Review vehicle changes as civil, building and landscape activities overlap.

Utility improvements at occupied properties. Supply removable panel access for suitable equipment approaching external service works. Recover sections when they are released by the site team.

Final construction and landscape handover. Keep the remaining delivery route defined while completed lawn sections are uncovered. Reconcile and inspect the panel set before moving it to the next project.

Reference HDPE formats for contractor-owned lawn-access stock. Compare panel weight and route coverage alongside the actual construction equipment.

Company Certifications
Quality Assurance

Certified for Global Standards

Each batch undergoes thorough inspection on the shop floor. Raw material is tested upon arrival, as well as finished parts upon completion. Anything failing to conform to specifications is not shipped out.

ISO 9001 Quality Management

ISO 9001:2015 certification requires written processes, production control measures, and traceability of the process from initial raw material to finished part. More critically, ISO helps us maintain tolerances across multiple batches, rather than just in theory.

Food-Grade FDA Compliance

In cases of applications involving food production, only selected types of HDPE and UHMWPE materials which conform to FDA food-grade standards are used. These grades are usually utilized in cutting surfaces, guides, and wear parts.

RoHS Compliant Manufacturing

Materials comply with RoHS environmental regulations in terms of substance content restrictions. This is ensured by monitoring the components of the material, rather than the finished part.

Traceable Material Test Reports (MTR)

Material test reports available upon request include mechanical properties such as tensile strength and impact value, as well as wear information and dimensional checks.

Frequently Asked Questions

Plan the assessed route before construction traffic starts. Provide the loaded delivery and equipment details early so the initial panel set reflects the intended access rather than being selected after the ground has already been damaged.

Review a change in equipment before using the original arrangement for the new duty. Keep the vehicle or machine details with the site access plan so each trade knows which movements the selected configuration covers.

Longer cover does not automatically mean better turf protection. Plan which sections can be uncovered when they are no longer needed, taking weather and turf condition into account. Solid panels do not guarantee healthy grass beneath indefinite coverage.

New turf can have different support and establishment conditions from the original lawn. Discuss the proposed access with the landscape and site team before reuse, rather than assuming the previous route assessment covers the newly finished area.

Count the routes that need to remain open at the same time. For example, forty compact panels represent 80 m² nominal area, but that stock cannot protect two separate 80 m² routes simultaneously. Include retained delivery access when planning reallocation.

Record which route sections were used, when coverage was removed and which panels or connectors need attention before the next project. Ground reinstatement requirements belong in the site handover scope; the mat purchase does not promise a fixed repair outcome.

Compare reusable coverage, handling, replacement losses and cleaning between projects. Our HDPE body avoids timber rot, while both surface protection and underlying ground support still need consideration. We do not base the comparison on a guaranteed service life or a universal number of reuses.
